AQUADECK BRIDGE DRAINAGE SPECIALISTS

Starlight Communications has been working with bridge drainage specialist, AquaDeck, who create bespoke solutions to drain surface water from large bridges and elevated structures.
AquaDeck’s target audience includes engineers and contract specifiers, so they approached us to develop a range of high profile marketing materials that would engage and influence with this particular demographic.
Marketing consultation
Starlight Communication’s process always begins with a strategic consultation period, so we can understand the business we are working with – who its customers are, what their industry is like, who the competitors are, what are the key sales drivers.
Initial meetings with AquaDeck revealed their ambitions to create industry-leading sales literature that could influence their clients, a new, functional website to act as a point of reference for contract specifiers, and new video content to showcase the specific features and nuances of their bridge drainage products.
New website
Since AquaDeck’s main audience – bridge engineers – thrive on detail, features and functionality, we wanted to create a new website experience that offered all this and more.
Using a combination of state-of-the-art video, aspirational photography, client case studies and animated videos, we developed a highly functional website packed full of desirable content, whilst retaining elegance and user experience.
The website served as a useful reference point for engineers and contract specifiers during the commercial tendering process, enabling them to bookmark and signpost key sections of content to their stakeholders.
Sales literature
We identified a suite of corporate brochures that would be commercially useful for the sales teams to utilise. Our graphic design team created some stunning cover designs and aspirational insides, and, coupled with some functional copy writing that focused heavily on product features and benefits, the resulting literature was ideal for AquaDeck to position itself as the bridge drainage industry specialists.

Video
In order to engage and inspire further, our strategic marketing plan focused heavily on the use of video as a ‘convincer’ tool.
We created a family of videos, each with different functions and objectives, including first-person client case studies and testimonials, bite-size social media footage, and top-end animated ‘explainer’ videos using the latest 3D rendering software packages.
The animated videos were especially useful to help explain some of the more complex product features that were otherwise difficult to show without cross-section, collapsible views.

Presentations
One of the key routes to market for AquaDeck was to get in front of its audience -literally. This involved presenting in front of large groups of key decision makers and other relevant industry stakeholders.
To help develop and maintain a credible image in this arena, we created a series of professionally-designed PowerPoint slides featuring slick graphics, animations and embedded video content.
The PowerPoint deck, featuring a library of slides that could be cherry-picked for tailored presentations, went down really well with the client for that all-important ‘wow’ factor.
Jim’s team has produced some stunning promotional materials that have really helped us connect with our audience.
